2013: Week 15

Saturday 6 April

We went over to Ipswich today to celebrate Finn's second birthday. He loved the book we got him, about Finn going to Peppa Pig's birthday party :).

Sunday 7 April

Jon and Daisy spent some time in the garden today as the weather was just slightly warmer than freezing cold, and she came back with these beautiful daffodils for me. I have a very similar photo of her doing exactly the same thing this time last year. In fact, she's wearing the same coat in both pictures...

Monday 8 April

Cheeky chops!

Tuesday 9 April

Daisy didn't sleep very well last night and eventually came in with us at about 03:00. This is how she slept most of the night after that. Which was unfortunate for Jon, whose head is usually where Daisy's feet are...

Wednesday 10 April

Daisy spent yesterday and today with Daddy, and he took this gorgeous photo of her while they were out.

Thursday 11 April

Having fun at Bouncers.

Friday 12 April

We went up to Mum & Dad's today as it's Mum's birthday on Sunday. Daisy loved seeing Nanna and Grandpa, and of course, Auntie Jen!

2013: Week 14

Saturday 30 March

Daisy went to Daddy's house today for 24 hours, and he took this beautiful photograph of her while they paid their now-obligatory visit to the zoo.

Sunday 31 March

Sporting her Minnie Mouse bow that came in her Easter Egg from Jon's Mum. And enjoying the aforementioned Easter Egg too :).

Monday 1 April

I took this photo from the front seat of the car, through the gap between the seat and the headrest. Cheeky monkey!

Tuesday 2 April

We went to the doctor's surgery today to get some ointment for Daisy's eye, which seems to have a minor infection.  While we were waiting for her prescription to be ready, Daisy made herself comfortable.

Wednesday 3 April

Beautiful girl :).

Thursday 4 April

A couple of food-related photos to finish this week.  First, eating the pizza she put together herself for her tea...

Friday 5 April

And second, getting to grips with spaghetti. 'It's just like wiggly worms, Mummy!'

2013: Week 13

Saturday 23 March

Daisy was away this weekend so I took the opportunity to attend Part 2 of the 'Get to Know Your DSLR Camera' course that I did last December. There was lots to learn, and unfortunately for us not much chance to practise because it was snowing heavily and freezing cold at the time we were due to go outside. So instead of showing a photograph of something I learned, here's the opposite - I switched the camera back to Auto to take this picture of Teddy and his baby brother Zachary :).

Sunday 24 March

Sleeping Beauty.

Monday 25 March

Who on earth fixes a fence in the snow? My Dad, that's who. He also painted the whole fence, down both sides of the garden, over the next couple of days. Love you, Dad!

Tuesday 26 March

Daisy hasn't been well since the middle of last week, and was sick yesterday evening so she didn't go to nursery this morning. She actually didn't seem too bad today, but had been awake a lot in the night and had given me a terrible night's sleep. This afternoon I went upstairs for a nap and Mum said she'd look after Daisy, but Daisy had her own plans and was soon snuggled up with me in the bed. I didn't manage to get to sleep, but she did :).

Wednesday 27 March

A rare photo of Daisy and Mummy :).

Thursday 28 March

Cheeky Monkey!

Friday 29 March

We went across to Ipswich today to celebrate Jon's stepdad's birthday, and we gave the kids our Easter eggs as we'll be at home on Sunday. They went down really well :).

2013: Week 12

Saturday 16 March

Jen arrived yesterday evening to spend the weekend with us, and this morning we decided to take Daisy to Wimpole Hall, a National Trust property about half an hour away that has a working farm, so we could see the newborn lambs. Daisy had a great time despite the fact that it was a bit wet. We also saw cows, pigs, horses, donkeys, ducks and geese, and in the afternoon while Jen and I went into London to see Matilda the Musical (brilliant, BTW), she and Jon made their own pizzas and ate them for tea. All in all, a great day for everyone :).

Sunday 17 March

Daisy had a birthday party to go to this morning at a local soft play place, so Jen came with us. Here they are taking a break from all that playing for a biscuit and a cuddle.

Monday 18 March

Jen stayed until the end of the day today. Having had a pretty busy weekend so far, we took it easy this morning with a trip to the supermarket, then went to the funfair (our usual soft play place) this afternoon. Daisy was tired out by the time she got back, and Jen snapped this picture of her lying down in the 'boat' for a rest :).

Tuesday 19 March

Jon's Mum made Daisy this beautiful 'quillow' and posted it to us at the end of last week. As its name suggests, it's a quilt that folds away into a cushion-sized pillow. Daisy LOVES it, and so do I!

Wednesday 20 March

So apparently this afternoon was designated 'jigsaw puzzle afternoon'. All of them, at once.

Thursday 21 March

I was trying to get a shot of Daisy screwing her eyes up and putting her hands over her ears, like Huey, Dewey and Louie do in Christmas Mickey when Uncle Scrooge starts playing the bagpipes, but she didn't oblige so this profile is all I got.

Friday 22 March

I took Daisy to Daddy's yesterday evening for the weekend and spent all day today cleaning and tidying the house so I don't have any pictures, but here's an interesting one. This is a picture of Daisy taken at the farm last weekend, and one of her taken at the end of March 2012, and one taken at the end of March 2011. My baby's getting big!

2013: Week 11

Saturday 9 March

Jon and I decided that we'd spring clean the loft this weekend. Actually it wasn't so much we decided than necessity dictated - we went to put some stuff up there and found there was just no room. So we brought everything down into the dining room and sorted it into rubbish, stuff for a car boot sale and stuff to keep. Then we re-stacked it all in the loft. This was early on, when we had got it all down from the loft and were trying to remember why we thought it was a good idea. The picture doesn't really do it justice, either, because there's loads more behind the door on the right of the photo... Still, we managed to get it all sorted and the 'to keep' stuff back in the loft by lunchtime on Sunday. It could have been a lot worse!

Sunday 10 March

I think I actually took this photo on Monday but I have another for tomorrow :). One of the things we found in the loft was Daisy's bike, which we'd put there last autumn when the weather got too cold. Unfortunately for Daisy, the weather decided to get colder again this week so she didn't get much use out of it, but when it warms up again, she's ready :).

Monday 11 March

Daisy and I went to see Harry and his Nonna this afternoon, and they loved playing in the ball pit.

Tuesday 12 March

While we were on honeymoon, Daisy's comforters, Aggie & Ellie, turned into Aggie, Ellie & Minnie. So much for trying to wean her off them any time soon...

Wednesday 13 March

This afternoon it was really cold outside, although we didn't have the snow that some parts of the country got. Having watched all the DVDs in the house (or so it seemed), we resorted to sliding down the stairs on Daisy's mattress :).

Thursday 14 March

Daisy came back from nursery today with a pot of cress with her initials on it! She didn't seem to have much idea about it, to say that she was supposed to have grown it, but I was very impressed nonetheless.

Friday 15 March

She asked to do some painting before she'd finished her breakfast this morning. I figured while she was still in her pyjamas was probably the best time to do it, and she loved it! I bought her the paints yesterday because she'd managed to get five Good Girl stickers the day before :).

2013: Week 10

Saturday 2 March

We went over to Ipswich today for Jessica's birthday party. While we were at Jon's Mum's house, Daisy needed a nappy change so I took her upstairs. I went into the spare room to find some wipes and when I came back into the bedroom I found Daisy like this. I think they found each other equally fascinating.

Sunday 3 March

It's just starting to get a teeny bit warmer, so the park is a great way to spend half an hour and work off some energy.

Monday 4 March

I guess she worked off more energy than I thought yesterday, because we were both watching TV this afternoon at about 16:00, me on the sofa and Daisy on the floor, when I realised she was breathing quite heavily. When I took a closer look, she'd fallen asleep! So I used the opportunity to practice my photo-taking skills and play around with focus areas, depth of vision etc. This is my favourite.

Tuesday 5 March

Daisy is getting REALLY good on the scooter; I have to walk really briskly to keep up with her. Exercise for her and exercise for me :).

Wednesday 6 March

We went over to Grace's house this afternoon and stopped at the park near their house on the way back. I didn't have my camera with me so this was just taken on my phone, but what I wanted to show was that Daisy had just walked up that rope ladder thing to get to the top of the slide all by herself, and she was very proud. So was I!

Thursday 7 March

Pre-getting-dressed morning fun :).

Friday 8 March

Daisy loved walking by the river to get to Grace's house the other day, so we went back for a look this morning. She terrified me by walking near the water a couple of times, but she was very good and stopped when I asked her to.

2013: Week 9

Oh dear, I'm in trouble. Having taken only 4 pictures last week, I took even fewer this week. Good job I've got 700 wedding photos to fill the gaps...

Saturday 23 February

One of the few photos of Daisy that the photographer managed to get on our wedding day. I love it, though, as it captures her perfectly - her beautiful hair, her favourite TV programme, and by the way she's standing you can tell she's holding Aggie & Ellie and sucking her thumb :).

Sunday 24 February

It was freezing cold today but lovely and bright, so we went to the park this afternoon. As ever, I struggled to get her to look at the camera, so I had to make do with this one.

Monday 25 February

Arty shot of my shoes. Those who read the story of the wonky bow on Facebook will note that I didn't bother to do anything about it...

Tuesday 26 February

Start them young, I reckon. Pot washer for hire :).

Wednesday 27 February

Daisy and I made cakes today. Actually, I made cakes and Daisy had a tantrum over wearing her apron, so she went and sat in the lounge. She enjoyed the end result, though :).

Thursday 28 February

In honour of her fifth birthday today, here's a gorgeous shot of Jon's niece, Jessica, who made a beautiful bridesmaid.

Friday 1 March

Detail on the back of my wedding dress. All that money, time and effort to lose 30 pounds was worth it!
