2013: Week 30

Saturday 20 July

We left Jen's house this morning and drove to Keswick, via Mum & Dad's for lunch, for a week's holiday. Once we'd unpacked, it was down to business - tea party time!

Sunday 21 July

Jon snapped this shot of Daisy while they were out today. I love the expression on her face :).

Monday 22 July

Daisy's favourite pastime this week is fast becoming apparent - she likes to take family members to the end of the road to see the almost-life-size statue of a giraffe. On Monday she took Jon...

Tuesday 23 July

... and on Tuesday it was Jen's turn :).

Wednesday 24 July

Having been more of a hinderance than a help with the 1,000 piece jigsaw I brought with us, Daisy was very excited to put in the final pieces this morning.

Thursday 25 July

Beautiful girl :).

Friday 26 July

The now-annual photo of the 'Greenwood girls' during Keswick week.

2013: Week 29

Saturday 13 July

Some friends of Jon's were having a James Bond-themed party this evening. As we rarely get dressed up, we asked our neighbour to take our photo before we left. This photo is actually the less nice of the two she took, but we are, at least, in focus. The other photo is a much nicer one of us, and the tree behind us is crisp and clear, but we're a bit blurry in front of it... :)

Sunday 14 July

It's all about the shops at the moment with Daisy, Shoe shops, hair bobble shops, tea party shops... And everything always costs three of whatever it is we're using to pay. Except we take turns to buy things, and quite often when it's my turn to buy, she gives me the money as well as the goods. If only real shops would do that...

Monday 15 July

It was a scorcher today so Daisy spent most of the day in just her nappy, and I just managed to grab the camera in time and snap this shot of her attempting to quench her thirst :).

Tuesday 16 July

In honour of the party last Saturday, I found the time to paint my nails. It's so rare that I get chance to do them, and if I do, it's usually with a clear varnish, that this was probably the first time Daisy registered that my nails were a different colour. I didn't suggest doing hers as I thought she'd just say no, as she does when I suggest anything new to her, but this afternoon she said 'I would like to paint my nails too, Mummy'. So we got the nail polish out and she loved it! Not so much on her toes, though - I did one foot and she decided she didn't like it. But the finger nails were a hit!

Wednesday 17 July

I took my camera to Little Stars toddler group today to try and get a shot of Daisy with the ladies who run the group. Unsurprisingly, she didn't co-operate. I did, however, manage to get this one of her while we were walking home. She looks so grown up here, in my opinion.

Thursday 18 July

I took this picture yesterday before bed. Daddy bought Daisy this Sleeping Beauty dress weeks ago, so she can wear it when she goes with him to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks, but so far she has shown no interest whatsoever in wearing it, even in trying it on. I suggest that she tries it on every couple of days, and today while I was getting her out of the bath she actually said 'Yes', so I ran to get the dress before she could change her mind. I got it as far as her shoulders before she started to protest, but I'd come this far and wasn't turning back, so I just kept going. As you can see, she eventually got used to the idea, but I had to wait a good ten minutes for the tears to subside and the red eyes to go down before taking this photo.

Friday 19 July

Last night Daisy and I drove up to Jen's house in York for a couple of nights before going to Keswick tomorrow for a week with Mum & Dad. It was a beautiful day today so we went for a picnic in Rowntree Park. Daisy took her favourite food, sausage rolls, and ate it in the usual fashion - roll first, sausage waiting on the picnic mat to be eaten later :).

2013: Week 28

Saturday 6 July

The good weather continues... We spent the afternoon in the garden today, and although she was unsurprisingly a bit wary of the paddling pool to begin with, she was having a whale of a time within fifteen minutes :).

Sunday 7 July

We went to Ipswich today to celebrate Eloise's birthday, but before we left Daisy and I popped around the corner to do a spot of geocaching. This particular one required a photograph in front of this sign including something to do with rabbits (the sign is for 'Bunny Lane') so I asked Daisy to oblige. She was only too happy to do so, if it meant we could then go and find treasure...

Monday 8 July

We went round to see Daisy's friend Teddy this afternoon and they had more paddling pool fun. Daisy had such a good time that she cried when we left. Love them :).

Tuesday 9 July

And still the weather stays nice! A little post-nursery sandpit time today.

Wednesday 10 July

I let Daisy try my ice lolly today - the initial sensation wasn't quite what she was expecting, but she ended up eating most of it. Typical...

Thursday 11 July

We went to pick broad beans this afternoon and thought we might as well dig up some potatoes while we were there...

Friday 12 July

We spent this morning at a toddler group a few miles away, and Daisy discovered the joys of high heels.

2013: Week 27

Saturday 29 June

Budding model? Only if she warms to the idea of the camera...

Sunday 30 June

Sausage rolls, homemade by Daisy and Dee.

Monday 1 July

Nanna & Grandpa arrived yesterday and went to Wimbledon today, so as it was beautiful weather, Daisy and I spent most of the day in the garden having tea parties. Here she is drinking water out of a plastic egg shell while sitting in the laundry basket. Isn't that how everyone does it???

Tuesday 2 July

Love you Grandpa!

Wednesday 3 July

Judging by my face, I think I was just about to blow a raspberry on Daisy's tummy...

Thursday 4 July

Daisy got back from nursery today with a French plait in her hair. Apparently Rosie did it; she just asked Daisy to stand still for a few minutes and voila. So why doesn't she stand still for me???

Friday 5 July

Birthday suit fun - one for the 21st birthday party, I think :).

2013: Week 26

Saturday 22 June

The wedding ring saga finally over (Jon took his ring in to be resized and while it was at the jeweller's it was stolen, so they made him a new one), Jon and I went back to the church and met the vicar there so we could 'get married again', according to Daisy - officially it's called a Ring Blessing. Daisy did exactly as she pleased while we were there, just like when we got married - but whereas last time she preferred to lie on the stage, this time she wanted to run up and down the aisles :). We said the 'I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage' part of our vows again and had a slightly less official photograph taken :).

Sunday 23 June

We went for lunch at the house of some friends today, and Daisy loved playing with Teddy, who's a few months younger than her. I forgot to take my camera out of my bag all afternoon so the best I could manage was a Goodbye hug.

Monday 24 June

New favourite snacking position.

Tuesday 25 June

Not quite sure why she felt the need to show me her tonsils...

Wednesday 26 June

As it was a relatively OK day, weather-wise, I told Daisy we could eat our lunch in the back garden. While I was making it, she came in with this onion, which she'd harvested from the vegetable patch. Farmer Daisy?

Thursday 27 June

Getting up to date with today's stickers - she can get up to ten a day for doing various things including staying in bed until 07:00, eating all her meals, saying please and thank you, getting dressed, having a bath, brushing her teeth and going to bed without too much fuss, and trying new foods. She usually gets five to seven stickers a day - but in the four weeks we've been using the sticker chart, she hasn't had a single sticker for trying new food...

Friday 28 June

Bringing new meaning to the term 'mini-skirt'.
