2013: Week 21

Saturday 18 May

Last September we bought tickets to see a play tonight at the Noel Coward theatre in London. It's called Peter and Alice and starred Dame Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw, two of my favourite actors. It was just 90 minutes long, straight through with no interval, which was actually quite nice as it meant we didn't get home too late :). Mum, Dad and Jen came with us, and Jen rather meanly took this photo of Jon and me on the tube. And seeing as I don't have another photo for today, this will have to do :).

Sunday 19 May

This is actually quite an old photo (it was taken last December) but I love what Instagram was able to do with it. And again, I don't have a photo for today.

Monday 20 May

1,000 days old today, and celebrating by proving she's still small enough to fit in the laundry basket.

Tuesday 21 May

Today involved a lot more sitting on the floor than Jen's used to - tea parties, picnics, peekaboo with the blanket...

Wednesday 22 May

My favourite girls :).

Thursday 23 May

I went over to Ipswich to check on our house build today. So far so good...

Friday 24 May

Daisy has had this buggy since last summer but it's only been in the last few weeks that she's been happy to put a baby in it - she's preferred just to push it around empty. Today she got baby ready for a walk, but I don't think she'll get very far in those shoes...

2013: Week 20

Saturday 11 May

I've been meaning to take some photographs of the tree at the edge of the park next to our house for a week or so, but the weather's been rubbish again and I wanted a nice coloured sky in the background. I got one today (or at least, there was a patch of sky behind the tree that was nice and blue), but I left it a little late to take the photos; the blossom would have looked nicer a few days ago. Still, I like it.

Sunday 12 May

It was warm enough to go to the park today, at least...

Monday 13 May

Update to the List Of Things That Daisy Will Eat: It now includes ham. Slowly but surely...

Tuesday 14 May

Daisy thought it would be funny to hide in the cupboard under the stairs. I called her bluff by closing the door fully, but that cupboard actually has two doors so I opened the other one to give her some light and peered over to find her. She loved it - spent a good ten minutes in there, opening and closing the tumble dryer door :).

Wednesday 15 May

We went round to our neighbours' house this afternoon and Daisy and Tate sat quite happily reading a book about animals.

Thursday 16 May

It's been a long day. Time for a nice cuppa tea :).

Friday 17 May

Who says you can't get any chores done with a toddler around? Just put her to work instead!

2013: Week 19

Saturday 4 May

This is Daisy running at me with the flower she chose from the garden centre. She helped Dee plant it in the back garden and she's going to watch it grow :).

Sunday 5 May

This was the view I had this afternoon while Skyping :)

Monday 6 May

I'm starting to get the hang of Instagram...

Tuesday 7 May

Apparently my request for Daisy to 'tidy up a bit' was interpreted as 'put all your toys in this bag'.

Wednesday 8 May

Eagle-eyed readers will notice that Daisy has the same outfit on as yesterday. It wasn't very dirty but it was in the laundry basket this morning, until Daisy took it out and insisted on wearing it again today, with the addition of her Minnie hair bow to complete the look.

Thursday 9 May

Bathtime fun :).

Friday 10 May

Daisy LOVES tea parties, particularly since I've started letting her put water in her tea pot. She especially loves filling all the cups to the brim, then continuing to pour... And she wonders why I said no to putting milk in the milk jug :).

2013: Week 18

Saturday 27 April

Making second breakfast with Dee. Look, mushrooms!

Sunday 28 April

We went to visit Jon's Grandad today, and Jon's sister and brother and their daughters came too. Daisy loved playing with Jessica, who is clearly teaching her to be a bit naughty. Not that she needs any coaching in that area :-).

Monday 29 April

We went to the park this afternoon as the weather is FINALLY starting to feel a bit more Spring-like, but Daisy spent the whole time underneath the climbing frame, picking up stones and putting them in her pockets, 'just like Makka Pakka!'

Tuesday 30 April

Having already eaten all of her fish pie at nursery, Daisy came home after lunch and declared that she wanted pasta & sauce (surprise, surprise). When she'd had a small bowl of pasta twists, she looked over at my plate and asked what I had, which was quiche. 'Please may I have quiche?' Bearing in mind she's never had it and has no idea it contains vegetables, I honestly expected her to spit it out, but she ate it all up! All, that is, until the last bite, when she pulled out a bit of red food and asked what it was, I told her it was tomato and she put the forkful down, stating 'I can't like quiche'...

Wednesday 1 May

We sang 'Row, row, row the boat' at toddlers this morning, and Daisy wanted to recreate the moment when we got home. And continued to do so for most of the afternoon.

Thursday 2 May

While Daisy was at nursery today I went over to Ipswich to check on the progress of our house build (there's lots of rubble at the moment). I went over to Jon's Mum's house for a cup of tea while I was there and found this cheeky monkey watching Peppa Pig with his Grandad :).

Friday 3 May

I actually took this photo on Wednesday but I don't have one for today and I love it :).
